In October 2024, Michelle Dominguez and Dorcas Kaweesa from the Ames Aeromechanics Workplace have been every awarded as a “Know-how Rising Star” on the Girls of Coloration STEM Convention in Detroit, Michigan. Rising Star awards are for “younger girls, with 21 years or much less within the workforce, who’re serving to to form know-how for the long run.” Ms. Dominguez is a Mechanical Programs Engineer engaged on rotorcraft design for vertical-lift autos resembling air taxis and Mars helicopters. Dr. Kaweesa is a Structural Evaluation Engineer and Deputy Supervisor for planetary rotorcraft initiatives together with Mars Exploration Program and Mars Pattern Return.
