On this picture from Dec. 11, 2024, the 212-foot-tall SLS (House Launch System) core stage is lowered into Excessive Bay 2 on the Car Meeting Constructing at NASA’s Kennedy House Heart in Florida. With the transfer to Excessive Bay 2, NASA and Boeing technicians now have 360-degree entry to the core stage each internally and externally.
The Artemis II check flight, focused for launch in 2026, will likely be NASA’s first mission with crew beneath the Artemis marketing campaign. NASA astronauts Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Reid Wiseman, in addition to CSA (Canadian House Company) astronaut Jeremy Hansen, will go on a 10-day journey across the Moon and again.
