The public release of iOS 18.2 will reportedly be happening a little earlier than previously reported.
It has been rumored that the public release of iOS 18.2 will take place earlier than previously planned. The new release date is December 2, which was previously thought to be over ten days into December.
In the most recent issue of his newsletter Power On, Mark Gurman, an Apple insider for Bloomberg, disclosed the revised date. Additionally, he restated his earlier assertion that iOS 18.4, a significant update for Apple Intelligence, would be made available in April of the following year. Along with a significant update to Siri, iOS 18.4 is said to introduce Apple’s AI to the European Union. Gurman said there are currently no plans to introduce Apple Intelligence to China.
Apple Intelligence will be the primary focus of iOS 18.2’s improvements to the iPhone 16. Due to lower sales as a result of the widely publicized AI features’ phased release, the production of the iPhone 16 has been reduced. Perhaps in an effort to shift more iPhone 16 stock, Apple is also breaking its promise and not releasing Apple Intelligence on the iPhone 15 Pro in its entirety.
Users will have access to new Apple intelligence features in iOS 18.2, such as:
- Using word prompts, you may create images in Image Playground.
- Genmoji is a tool for creating personalized emoticons.
- Integration of ChatGPT with Siri Visual Intelligence, which is used to comprehend language or recognize objects in pictures
- Additional choices for writing tools driven by AI
In addition to the Apple Intelligence capabilities, there is another very welcome upgrade that may be released to the general public. Users worldwide can control default apps in the iOS 18.2 beta release. It was believed that this would only be available in the EU, but if the beta is successful globally, the public release may follow.
Furthermore, if Apple agrees to permit it, we may eventually see alternate app stores and third-party NFC payments that are only available in the EU. Good luck to those who don’t give a damn about AI. Apple is investing extensively in Apple Intelligence, and for the foreseeable future, it will be a major focus of major iOS upgrades.
