“I like my nation. I like serving my nation. I feel that was ingrained in me within the Navy, the place where I grew to understand how fortunate we are to stay in America and have the freedoms that we’ve. Once I returned from [my first duty station] in Germany, I separated from the Air Power for about 9 months, however,r I missed it a lot, I used to be like, ‘Nicely, I suppose I may be part of the reserves.’ I did need to get my training. I used to be prepared by then.

“So, I enrolled in a class and went into the Reserves, after which 9/11 occurred. That can change an individual. I knew as my unit that afternoon and mentioned, “No matter what you want, I’m prepared.” I used to be activated supporting the mission, however I didn’t deploy like my husband. [9/11] is what touched my life greater than something: how rapidly issues can change within the blink of an eye fixed. That’s what strengthened my respect for Air Power’s core values: service earlier than self integrity, and excellence in all we do.

“Then, after I obtained pregnant, I assumed I’d need to be dwelling, so I continued in civil service and simply fell in love with my children. That’s when my relationship with loving the Air Power was modified. It advanced. I was nonetheless worth all that point I had and served and the teachings I discovered rising [in the Air Force].
