Parliament Winter Session: Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha adjourned amid ruckus by INDIA bloc over Adani bribery expenses

Parliament Winter Session: Proceedings within the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha had been adjourned amid protest by the opposition, minutes after the periods started on Wednesday. The session will now reconvene at 12 midday.

Adani Group Denies Costs

The Adani Group has denied all allegations, calling them “baseless”.

Earlier in the day, the Adani Group denied allegations of bribery and violations of the US Overseas Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) towards its chairman Gautam Adani, his nephew Sagar Adani, and key govt Vneet Jaain in a case filed by the US Division of Justice (DOJ). 

The corporation clarified that its chairman Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani, and Vneet Jaain haven’t been charged beneath the FCPA, dismissing current claims as “incorrect.”

Additionally, former lawyer of India Mukul Rohatgi together with Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani addressed the media and stated the allegations lack credible proof and specifics.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union authorities have listed 16 payments, together with the Waqf Act Modification Invoice, for the session which runs until December 20.

5 payments have been listed for introduction, consideration, and passage, whereas 10 are for consideration and passage, in line with the bulletin of the Lok Sabha.
